Winged Shepherd of Innocence has been published over at Fear & Trembling Magazine.
This is the very first dark fiction piece I've had accepted and published anywhere.
I hope you like it.

Oh, that was so sad. Well done, BT.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cate.
ReplyDeleteVery good!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nat. I've not long finished reading Fish balls and Mushrooms - I must say it wasn't what I was expecting - it was way better - well done yourself!
ReplyDeleteI second Cate's comment--very moving. Wonderful imagery, too, with the mud and the rain smeared across Kevin's glasses. I saw it all.
ReplyDeleteThanks Aaron, I'm glad you liked it.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it seems the overall response is positive. Remember this is my first dark piece to have been published and therefore the first thing I've been able to share with all of you, so I was a little insecure on how it would go over.
Last thing I needed was a bomb and you all out there thinking I was a complete waste of space.
Thank you everyone for the kind words - it is very much appreciated. Damn - now I think I'm going to cry...
Such a dark and sad story, but I loved it.
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late to the party on this one, but that was a great read. I love your way with images-- I feel a bit rain-soaked and wind-whipped after that.
ReplyDeleteThanks D & Katey. Strangely enough, it was because of it being sad that it did no good at PARSEC 2008 - yep, this was my entry last year for metallic wings. And don't worry about being late, Katey, I'm just glad you came...hang on...
